Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work ®

blue KIWI™ provides regional coordination for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work®, sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women. The program provides a once a year opportunity (on the fourth Thursday of April) for girls and boys to share their expectations for the future in the context of seeing new opportunities for balancing the responsibilities of job and family.
First locally launched in 2004, blue KIWI™ included children, between the ages of 10 and 17, who reside at The Miller Home and Presbyterian Homes and Family Services. Children were successfully matched one-on-one with role models in the careers of their choice including veterinary science, dentistry, web design, automotive sales, bookstore ownership, cosmetology, restaurant proprietorship, photography, motorcycle fabrication and design among others.
The 2005 program saw increased numbers of participants including blue KIWI™'s Mini-Society® Entrepreneurial Summer alumni and high school students.
In 2006, Frito-Lay® and blue KIWI™ partnered to offer this educational experience to even greater numbers of participants including children whose parents were Frito-Lay associates.
If your child is interested, or you're interested in being a role model, please contact us for further details.
